Mr. Anderson served as chief operating officer and executive vice president of CNL Retirement Properties, Inc., a public real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on seniors' housing properties and medical facilities, until the completion of the REIT's $5.3 billion merger with Health Care Property Investors in October of 2006. At the time of the merger, CNL Retirement Properties owned over 270 properties and was the second largest owner of seniors' housing units in the world.
Prior to joining CNL, Mr. Anderson worked with Classic Residence by Hyatt, Hyatt Hotels, and the Pritzker family. As senior vice president of development and acquisition for Classic Residence by Hyatt, he oversaw the development and acquisition of upscale seniors' housing, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Mr. Anderson has been a member of the American Senior Housing Association since 1994 and currently serves on the executive board. In addition, he has served as a member of the board of directors of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industries (NIC) and currently serves as a board member to Westminster Retirement Communities, a not-for-profit operator of continuing care retirement communities. Mr. Anderson received a B.S. with honors, in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
