Charles H. “Chuck” Ogilvie Jr. is a long time Central Florida resident and entrepreneur who attended Winter Park High School and Mercer University. After school he started entrepreneurial training by working with his father, Charles Ogilvie Sr., well known in Central Florida as an investment banker.
After starting several small businesses he married his wife Nonie and moved to Atlanta to work for NAPA Filters, Inc. a division of Wicks Corp. While working with Wicks, Mr. Ogilvie received “large corporate” training as a District Manager and Trainer during his four years with a company that was featured in the book “In Search of Excellence”.
Mr. Ogilvie returned to Orlando and founded Designed Furniture Associates, Inc, a commercial office furniture dealership in 1984. He subsequently built the dealership into the number one Westinghouse Furniture Systems dealership nationally in total sales volume within five years. DFA maintained offices in Washington D.C. and Orlando with over 120 employees. While owning DFA, Mr. Ogilvie served on the Westinghouse National Advisory Council for eight years and co-founded the National Independent Contract Dealer Council. During this time he was nominated twice for Central Florida “Entrepreneur of the Year” and was in Orlando Magazine’s “Top 100” Companies.
After selling DFA in 1998, he established StrongSeal Recycled Rubberized Products, LLC, as a manufacturer of roofing materials and waterproofing membranes from recycled tires. This company was sold in 2003 to CETCO International, a division of AMCOL International, which is a member of the NY Stock Exchange.
During the last 15 years, Mr. Ogilvie served as President and Chairman of the Florida Citrus Bowl. He was Chairman of the joint partnership between Orange County and the City of Orlando as a venue to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, directing approximately 400 Central Florida volunteers.
Governor Lawton Chiles appointed Mr. Ogilvie to the State Board of P.R.I.D.E. Industries where he served on numerous committees and also as Vice Chairman. He served on the Board of Directors of BATTS International, Inc (Zeland, Michigan) until it was sold to TYCO Industries and as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Industries Training Corporation, LLC.
Mr. Ogilvie is currently Founder and President of Stealth Aerial Cameras, LLC which makes and supplies specialty HD cameras to the Networks (Turner, ABC, NBC, etc.) for sports coverage.
